Thomasville Rose Festival

Last Saturday, B and I went up to Thomasville, Georgia for the Rose Festival. The parade had already taken place before Saturday but the activities in the park were interesting.

Our first stop was the chicken show. What? You’ve never been to a chicken show or even heard of one??  Well, actually, neither had we.

It was informative. The guy in the hat and overalls wore a microphone and told those gathered all kinds of facts about chickens.

The idea was to drum up business for their “have your picture made with a chicken” booth.

After all this chicken talk, we strolled over to check out this cool booth. Some creative soul transformed a VW into a smoker grill. They were cooking—what else?—beetle burgers.

We went to the rose show. Such variety under one large tent!

From there we went to the official town rose garden .

The afternoon had turned quite warm. The spacious rose garden gazebo provided the perfect place to rest a bit and enjoy the gentle breeze.
