About once a year, we are visited by a Prothonotary Warbler. These warblers are not uncommon around our wilder rivers, but are more often heard than seen. It is a loud call that I refer to as, "Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet!" Last week, I heard it and saw it at the same time. It flew into a buddleia outside our bedroom window. I happened to be on the screen porch and saw it fly in, and then it flew off. B was out there not long after that and saw it in the birdbath and called for me to come. I took this picture through the screen so it is not clear, but was better than I expected.
