Turkeys in the Road

It was an eventful morning trip to the garden recently. By midmorning, we had heard a pack of coyotes nearby--a first there. We had seen indigo buntings in the garden. On the  way home, there was a deer crossing the road, as well as these turkeys out for a stroll.

The shots are through the windshield, so they are not wonderful. In the first picture, there are five in the road and three on the side.

As we sat in the truck in the middle of the road, they ran in and out of the cover alongside.

There were two hens and six big poults.

Check out the fancy footwork below!

In the end, we got to see them fly, one at a time, over the fence.
It was quite a show.
