Spoonbills, Wood Storks, and Ibi: Oh, My!

When B and our son came in from fishing around the school near Vilano Beach, the spoonbills and their friends were feeding by the shoreline.

In Tallahassee, we commonly see all but the spoonies, so the guys took me to see them.

When the egret above turned to look straight at the camera, the effect was bizarre.

These guys had been eating a lot of crustaceans, as they were quite colorful.

Even the spoon-shaped bill of this guy was pink.

These two wood storks were apart from the others, hoping for a hand-out from a fisherman.

I noticed that even they have pink feet.  Or, possibly, slippers.

What a lucky day, to see so many beautiful birds in one spot!
