Recycling Processing Center

We took a load of metal to the recycling center.

Here is a pile of wooden pallets. They deal with wood on-site. I am not sure how it ends up after it has been broken down.

I took a couple of shots of compacted materials ready to be trucked to various plants where they are reclaimed and recycled.

These are aluminum cans.

  • Americans throw away enough aluminum cans to rebuild our commercial air fleet every three months, and enough iron and steel to supply all our nation's automakers every day.
  • Throwing away one aluminum can wastes as much energy as if that can were 1/2 full of gasoline.

    This is plastic, mostly bottles.

    Here is a little closer.

Americans throw away 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour.

The statistics are from the Clean Air Council.

Surely we can do better than this, friends.
