I enjoyed seeing the progress as the gourds were in different stages of growth. What type of gourd are they? I've never tried growing them myself, might have to give it a try next year.

This is our first go at it. They are called birdhouse and dipper---two different varieties. They take up a lot of space. This is 2-4 plants filling at least a 10x10 ft area.
I did grow them when I was in FL. I used net to grow them higher. I found out that some people made lamp shade out of it. In Japan most common to make is water bottle or some kind of bottle, like Sake.
The S of SNB is a kindergarten teacher in a public school in Tallahassee, Florida. Her better half is B. He is self-employed as a lawnscaper. They have two fine adult sons --and an amazing daughter-by-marriage. They are the grandparents of one delightful little boy and his sweet, infant sister!
