So D was pressed into service and got some manly experience with power saws and crowbars and the power of levers. And we got our deck torn down in just over two more hours than what B had already put in a few nights before.
My part was, of course, documentation, but also serving iced tea to hot, sweaty laborers and then, lunch.
After they were done disassembling, I helped load the pickup with the boards.
The shirt used for the red flag has a long history. I got it many years ago, used but looking new. D has worn it to many Latin conferences and competitions and out to Philmont, NM during his high school years and, later, it even spent a summer in Namibia (Africa). Yeah, it is a well-traveled piece of cotton gingham. Orvis (the maker) can be proud: It’s still traveling!
Here is the loader that pushed our deck up into the pile of recycling materials.
Wonder what it may become.
