Animal Kingdom

Here are some more of the animals from the safari ride at Animal Kingdom.

Giraffe

 Elephants

If you look really carefully in the  picture below, you can see what look like little sticks in the ground.  That is actually the subtle electric fencing.

A fabulous baobab tree!

Various birds.

Rhinos.

Ostriches

 Leopards, I think.

 Zebras

Lioness

No animals to spot below--just attractive scenery.

I highly recommend it for anyone who can take the fairly rough ride. There is a sign at the ride entrance listing who might reconsider.

Animals at Animal Kingdom

A while back we had a wonderful trip to take our grandson on his first Disney adventure. Growing up in Florida, we had been to the Magic Kingdom enough times, but none of us had ever been to Animal Kingdom. It is now my favorite park. Our bumpy African safari ride was simply amazing.

Our first water crossing.

Hippos.

Crocodiles.

A domestic with enormous horns.

Termite mounds.

Wildebeests and another look at our cool ride.

More pictures tomorrow!

Perry Water Tower Has a Crown of Buzzards

They were enjoying the last warmth of a cool, spring afternoon but I swear they reminded me of jewels (onyx, perhaps?) on a crown.

Or perhaps the power lines are actually a music staff and the unruly notes simply flew away.
Should I give it a rest?

Mailbox Monday: Mail Carrier

Note the side-by-side semi's: that explains why there is no street front view.

The Gorgeous Miss Saigon

I planted these Walmart bulbs in my little school garden a few years ago. I love irises but most of them are not real happy in Florida. These have proved to be the exception and reliably come up each spring. As noted in the post title, the variety is Miss Saigon.

Sadly, all the other blooms appeared while we were on spring break and we returned to only spent flowers. There is always next year!
